CASE STUDY For this Case Study development project, you will need to write and develop a case study in system/operation and maintenance management. you need to identify a company in the UAE in any sector that deals with any operation and then analyze the company in light of system and maintenance management matters or issues. You will decide on the type of case study either by emphasizing: • Illustrative / bestpractice (merelyillustrateshowtoapplyappropriateconcept / successstoryofthecompany, and no actionplanisrequiredbytheprotagonist (main character/storyteller)). • Evaluation/ finished (protagonist has tomakejudgementabouttheworth, value, or effectivenessofperformance / act / outcome) • Decision/ “unfinished” case (protagonist has tomakedecisionamongalternatives) • Problem (protagonist has toidentifyrootcausesoftheproblemand / or suggestswaystofixtheproblem) The general guidelines for the project are as follows: 1) Executive summary 2) Define the system operation and the context (business unit) in which it operates. 3) Analyze the operations using life-cycle analysis, maintenance task analysis and other analytical tools. 4) Discuss the operation capabilities, given the current structure, in terms of the specific dimensions identified by you. 5) Discuss existing problems and weaknesses in the current maintenance processes. 6) Propose how should the maintenance operation be redesigned to be able to do particularly well in terms of cost, time, quality, and flexibility? Only include what is relevant to the case study. You can include all the statistics/figure –factual or general information if needed. 3- CASE DESCRIPTION – BEST PRACTICE/EVALUATION/DECISION/PROBLEM (TYPE OF CASE) Provide a detailed overview of the matters, issues, challenges, problems, controversies and experiences based on the list of suggested topic that you have conducted your first assignment on * Use any concepts that you have learned & apply these concepts and theories to present the business challenges in your case study. 4-SOLUTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Discuss solutions and recommendations in dealing with the challenges, controversies, and problems presented in the preceding section by using journals to justify it. Allsolutionsandrecommendations need tobesupportedwith argumentsfromthetheoryandthecasestudydata. Recommendationsshould beactionableandpractical.
