As a part of your Introduction to Engineering, you are required to research on an engineering topic of your interest. For this task, you will need to write a technical report (max. 4 pages excluding references and appendixes) on a recent significant engineering achievement. This engineering marvel should have been completed within the last ten (10) years and can relate to any engineering sub-discipline (electronics, mechanical, mechatronic, software or telecommunications engineering) of your choice. Examples of such engineering marvel includes: Large Hadron Collider  Implementing NBN  SpaceX auto landing control system  Implementation of 4G/5G network Preferably, you should choose your own topic. Present your assignment in the style of a technical report. The recommended sections to the document are: 1. Introduction / Background (Describe the chosen field of engineering and the technological achievement of the chosen project. Answer questions like who, what, when and where.) 2. Technological significance (Provide a high-level overview for the lay person, evaluating the importance of the technical breakthrough in the chosen marvel. Why was it a significant achievement?) 3. Discussion (Discuss TWO engineering challenges faced at the time of conception and/or construction of the project and ONE social, economic, legal or environmental implication this project had on the world.) 4. Conclusion (summary + BRIEF comment on the current status of the chosen marvel and any future direction or new challenges that it faces.) 5. References (IEEE referencing style) Your report should contain appropriate and reliable information:  Information should be relevant and authoritative.  A variety of information sources should be used (e.g. books, journal articles, professional reports etc) The referencing must be of the IEEE style. Any included figures and graphs must have associated captions and references. The heading of the report should be "Engineering Marvels: [your choice of marvel]".
