transform the inputs to the required outputs in the form of products and/or services. Due to the
complexity of manufacturing operations, different problems were encountered by the operations
manager. The major problems were identified as follows:

(2) Poor forecasting (10 marks)
(3) Poor delivery-on-time. (10 marks)
(4) Ineffective and inefficient inventory management system. (10 marks)
(5) Poor facility layouts. (10 marks)
(6) Inappropriate use of tools & technique. (10 marks)
(7) Lack of knowledge and experience in applying improvement cycle models.
2 3
(i.e PDCA Cycle & DMAIC Cycle) (10 marks)
As a operations manager, You are required to work closely with the Quality Improvement
Team (QIT) members to overcome the above-mentioned problems in order to Improve the overall
process performance.
