Introduction
This paper includes an annotated bibliography on “Impacts of Tourism in Thailand”. The main aim of this paper is to identify and create an proper understanding by reviewing six of relevant tourism industry related journal articles and covering its impact of both negative and positive in the destination country. All the articles are related to the Study of Thailand including both long term and short term problems created by several natural and human activities. The research includes both pros and corns of global tourism in depth. Further, the literature also elaborate about the tourism industry in Thailand and its support for economy development of the nation. The six journal articles has been discussed focusing in their topic as this articles has been a base for understanding Thailand economy, tourist attraction, hotels and popular places for visiting. All six article describes about the key ideas of article and ideas relating to the study location.

The article is based on the study of the Vulnerability and elasticity in Thailand occurred with 2004 Tsunami with the help of DSF ( Destination Sustainability Framework).The key factors that the authors elaborate are the impact on various tourist destination of Thailand, methods of collecting information and data, factors and procedures identifying difference in vulnerability and re silence level within and outside Phi Phi, Patong and Khao Lak through the incident. The DVA ( Destination Vulnerability assessment) showed the negative and positive impact on the destination for the present and future.
The three places that were examined through various case study by authors argues about environmental disaster and their effect to the destination and their overcome phase.The time duration, elements and factors that are evaluated from three different destination following 2004 Tsunami resulted differentiation from one other in several aspects.The article demonstrate about the impact of 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami on many tourism based destination striking vulnerability of local villages to stress and shocks .So, this paper has showed the use of DSF to find comparative study of affected tourist destination along with the understanding of level of danger to the places with its developmental context. The destination weakness has been shown with the blend of dynamic and complex elements that includes characteristics of artificial and natural surrounding, peak and off seasons,Histories of development, target market, marketing strategies ,various power structure, institutional preference,human assets, access to political, social, economic processes that facilitate or block available resources.
This article is very useful in understanding the destination weakness and strength over time. The study has provided real proof of event occurred and changes in human-environment structure.The study was limited in three destination of Thailand thus, more case study and survey could be more helpful to gather information about Thailand. The ability of affected number of population response through various time frames showing pre-existing situation and their capabilities and desire to change. The article showed the failing and success after the Tsunami in all three beautiful places of Thailand that change is not easy nor wanted in few cases.
Article 2:The impact of ethnic tourism on hill tribes in Thailand

In this article Ishii review the advantages in economy working in the cultural or ethic tourism industry affect family in general minority community, directing towards labor division and gender dynamics involved in community.The author gathered information and data through inner city Akha citizens from which many are involved in the Tourism industry. The study was tested by Liner regression model.As ,Ethic tourism is an essential part of global tourism industry.
The article is focused on the model of borderline people based on gender, ethnicity and legal status. The study comprises of hill tribes people of Thailand who are involved in the ethnic tourism.It has also further more studied about the ethnic minority people including hill tribes people who are still not Thai citizens but are mostly included in Tourism sectors.The literature has indicate that local citizens should be involved in making decision process for ethnic tourism that will help to benefit communities from the effect of Ethic tourism. As per the study the author found the highest income earners were youths ans women than elder ones which showed the disruption in social system of tradition in community.
This article is important to my study as it has discussed about the income earning based on the gender, legal status and ethnicity and their involvement in tourism system. It has generate the information regarding planning in tourism industry, local laws and policies in various areas regarding ethnic tourism in Thailand.The article is successful to show the diversity of people in Thailand and their growth in Tourism industry.

This article has illustrated about the perception of community people and international visitors in environmental and social change and island of Koh Samui , Thailand tourism evolution. In this article the author has examined about the rapid change in environment and its causes and how the local community people are taking the everyday changes that is associated with the developmental activities and tourism. The study is done under the quantitative and qualitative method for identifying and analyzing social and environmental impact in host communities.
The article has pulled out the information regarding the arrival of international visitors in Thailand along with the revenue generated or Gross domestic product. The author has taken a small town on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand for study and collecting data and information but has shown most of the coastal areas of Thailand being effected.As in one side due to tourism economy is booming and the study has captured the negative impact and social and environmental degradation in many tourism destination such as Koh Samui, Pattaya and Phuket.The living standard, physical health, social well being and psychology of people living in host country is affected by rapid growth in tourism. The study has not only picked the negative impact but also demonstrate how the host country has abstract about the Tourism and its impact understanding the need of sustainability.
The article does not fully relate to the research of my study but involves many information about Thailand tourism in different aspect. The article also talks about the sustainability which relates to the maintenance of natural resources, ecological diversity and integrity, establish socio-cultural resources and also meeting the human need and desires. The sustainability more related to the tourism industry of Thailand aiming for improvement in environment planning and future actions.
Article 4: Perceived travel risks regarding terrorism and disease: The case of Thailand

In this article the authors has carried about the risk in traveling to the destination places by terrorism and several diseases. The study is done in Thailand through several primary data collecting methods like interviews and questionnaire survey. The authors aims to identify tourist perception in having risk in traveling abroad, exploring the tourist decisions after the risk perceived, impact of terrorism and diseases on hospitality industry of Thailand.It has merely focused on the travelers concerns about their safety and security.
The article has deeply gone through the incidents occurred in tourist destination places and its impact in the tourist travel to the place. Through various methods of data collection the finding came out with different results showing the people choosing alternative places for visit rather discontinuing completely. The article also clarify about the first time traveler and repeat traveler who are concerned about the risk, travel cost and inconvenience travel. The repeat travelers were found to more price concerned and less tolerant to inconveniences traveling than first time travelers. The study involve few limitations as it would have been better if the sampling could be done in the flight. The authors not only remained with the case study but also provided some recommendation for improvement in Thailand hospitality industry and visitor safety. Educational promotions on international new channels about affected and non affected destinations, low tour packages, proper security and safety in Airports including Check-in, luggage claims and immigration process.
The article is useful for my study as it consist the information regarding Thailand hospitality industry and ways to reduce the risk of different events to help the visitors safe traveling.It has also guided about the number of traveler in Thailand and impact of terror attack and diseases outbreaks in Destination places.

The article is about the reestablishing the image of Thailand and correcting the negative or bad image of sex tourism by Branding Thailand through several positive aspects.however the critical debate of this article is removing all the negative impacts of sex tourism and emerging in global market place as best tourism destination. The Branding Thailand project was focused by the government of Thailand as to find out the strength and weakness view point from worldwide people.
The article focuses its studies towards branding Thailand from different viewpoint. The study was carried out for one year to find out the proper and correct perspective information from diverse range of people who may or may not be the product or service user of Thailand. Branding Thailand research helped to collect quantitative and qualitative perception of people with significant characteristics of Thailand.The literature has clarified about the negative side of Thailand associate with the prostitution and sex problems in the same time it has focused on emphasizing on the positive or strong characteristics of Thailand that can help to boom the tourism industry world wide. The article has also included about the promotional activities carried out for the brand positioning of Thailand in positive ways such as marketing campaigns, natural beauties, events, slogans and local hospitality.
The author of this article clarifies the current and future challenges faced by Thailand followed by negative image created by sex tourism.The branding Thailand research showed the effort of Thailand through various programs and strategy to create a new brand image.It has also demonstrate the strong side of Thailand which can lead the positive image globally.The proper clarification of people perception interns of traveling and other purposes has presented a guide in my research of Tourist destination (Thailand).

In this article Thailand as a tourist destination: perceptions of International visitors and Thai residents ,author has discussed about the perception and expectation of Thai resident and International tourist. The main prospect of this study is to find out the position of Thailand as tourist destination including both positive and negative image perception made by both Thai people and international tourist.
As in Tourism industry ,Image is one of the important part of destination country.Image can be divided into two as an image created by the marketing department or an image of a product or service developed by the consumer.The surveyed was carried out to determine the perspective of Thai and international people for the image of Thailand in different features. The study find out the result different from one other as Thai people felt sightseeing, friendly nature and Thai cuisine as important part of tourist destination meanwhile international tourist felt freedom, entertainment and night life of Thailand as important features. The effect of uncontrolled tourism has negative impact on Tourism.So, as a result the tourism product that is more sustainable is implemented for enhancing and protecting opportunities in the future.
The article has overall showed both the negative and positive impact of human activities and their influence in the image of nation that is perceived by the international traveler and Thai residents. The study gave an overall understanding of people perception towards the destination country varying from different elements of the places.The article involves brief about the Thailand important features for which people visit which is significant for my research.
