The learners will attempt different tasks building broader understanding of the importance organisations place on managing their resources efficiently in order to achieve their objectives. Scenario You have worked under the HR Manager in an organisation. The organisation that you work has close links with Impact College and provides learning resources for its learners. You have been asked by the HR manager for a leaflet for the College’s Business Courses describing the benefits of managing human resources and explaining the importance they place on staff having the employability, personal and communication skills which meet the company’s needs. As a part of the task, you need to include a job description for a specific role as an exemplar for the business students. Task 1, 2 & 3 (LO1) P1, P2, M2 (Report) Using the examples of selected organisation, describe how the business manage its existing human resources. Focus on a particular department e.g. Operations. How can you reduce expenses on electricity and gas by effectively utilising resources. 2. E.g. the manager shuts all lights and heating before leaving restaurant / office. Task 7 (P4) Report Scenario Your Manager asked you to work closely with Impact College (or chosen organisation e.g. restaurant, takeaway) and assisting them with their financial records. After discussion with the owner you discovered that the organisation has limited understanding of how to access sources of finance. Therefore you have decided to prepare a report on how they can get funding. To achieve P4, the learner is required to describe the sources of finance for this business organisation. • You will need to cover range of internal and external sources? • Internal sources – owner’s saving and capital from profits • External sources- bank for example overdraft, business loan, commercial mortgage, venture capital, hire purchase, leasing and share issues. They do not understand the principles of breakeven analysis and are not sure at what point they are able to register a profit. Your manager has asked you to explain how useful breakeven analysis can be in assisting the organisation in determining the best output.
