Weekly Objectives Through participation in the following activities, the candidate will: • Apply their knowledge of research methodology in defining an educational problem in an educational setting. (4o) o Reflection on Action Research o Revised Literature Review • Apply their skills of writing and citing in an appropriate academic format (American Psychological Association, 6th Edition). (10f) o Revised Literature Review Overview of the Action Research Process As addressed in EDGR 601, Educational Research, there are four phases in the Action Research process: • Literature Review • Creating an Action Plan • Implementation (will not be completed during this course) • Analysis and Reporting (will not be completed during this course) In EDGR 601: Educational Research, you began the Literature Review. You became acquainted with Concordia’s approach to the Action Research process, refined your area of focus, developed your research question, and researched the literature based on your topic. Phase One: Literature Review In the first week of this course, EDGR 698, you will edit and polish your Literature Review and refine your area of focus. The Literature Review is to be enhanced and expanded in this course to a minimum of 8-10 pages with 12-15 resources. Please note that you will need to show progress in enhancement of your Literature Review by Saturday of this week. However, your final Literature Review with 12-15 sources (of which at least 10 are primary research) and 8-10 pages is not due until Week 5. During this course, you will create and compile all the elements for your Action Research proposal. The complete proposal includes: • Title Page • Proposal – this includes: o Literature Review (minimum 8-10 pages, minimum 12-15 sources) o Demographics o Proposed Action o Intended Data Collection and Analysis Measures o Ideas for Sharing Findings • Reference page • Appendixes Your Week 5 final proposal will be scored with the Action Research Proposal Rubric.
