Task Description Reflective practice can help you to deconstruct events or situations and assist you to develop personally and professionally
Follow the steps and write a reflective essay that demonstrates how reflective practice facilitated you to explore an uncertainty in health care.
1. Think about a health event/situation that you have been personally involved in or observed either as a student, an employee or a recipient of health care that triggered you to reflect on issues or uncertainties around policy/practice/protocol in health delivery. The event does not have to be of a critical or life threatening nature it can be a commonplace health event/situation.
2. Deconstruct the event using the Gibbs1988 reflective cycle.
3. Explore one issue or uncertainty in detail
4. Write an essay that:-
Briefly describes the event
Demonstrates how the Gibbs reflective cycle helped an understanding of self and alternative views
Reveals new understanding personally and professionally around an uncertainty in health policy/practice/protocol through analysis of good quality information including journal articles
Explains the action required to enhance the professional health practice of self and others in light of your reflection
