Running Head: Interface Design The Design of an Interface for an Online Gift Shop Subject Name: Interface Usability Subject Code: ITC-504 Lecturer Name: Rajyalakshmi Gaddipati Student Name: Ponnaganti suresh Assessment Item-1 Project Brief2 Project brief for the design of an interface for an online gift shop. Overview It is a project scope for developing a new interface design for an online gift shop. The aim of the project is to come up with the best interface for a mobile application through which customers at the gift shopcan go through the items or leave comments about them; order any currently in-stock object online to be delivered via post or the “click and collect” option. Ask about gifts that are not stocked now and; also make available a system where employees are informed when there is an order or enquiry from current or potential customers.(Benbasat,Goldstein & Mead,2007). Vision My idea for this mobile application is to provide a better online presence for the gift shop for them to better compete with other online stores. The interface should be able to work on all devices without any hitches hence it will be accessible to all customers anywhere. I see the online application being attractive to all kinds of clients across the board. Outcomes I expect that the easy to use and attractive interface will attract more potential customers to access the application and also the old customers will have an easier time ordering from the gift shop. The gift shop will be able to compete with the other online stores that it could not have been able to before because of an inadequate interface.(Cowles, Kiecker & Little,2012). Scope Project Brief3 The interface design will cover different requirements. The application will provide up to date information about productsand their availability, price and whether there are any offers or discounts for said products. It should also give the customers a platform to comment on the goods and services provided.Carrying out market research on their goods by regularly spotlighting random things to find the best selling products. Success Criteria The intergration success of the interface design will be shown by questioning the clients on their experience while using the online mobile through issuing questionnaires, going through the comments made by customers on the app after shopping, having the staff ask the customers personally about their experience while using the application. Interface success is shown. Key assumptions The interface design will improve the business substantially since the gift shop’s online presence will be better. The design also will add more features to the online application for the gift shop hence customers will be able to access more services from the store. The online store will have the ability to compete with the other online gift shops on another level through this Objectives Output Target Achieve speedy response to clients needs Increasde the number of clients served on daily basis 2000 clients Increase the amount of sales made on daily basis Double amount of sales made in previous month 2500 Units Reduce time wastage on placing orders Allow placement of an order in less than 5 minutes 500 Sucessful orders daily Project Brief4 interface thus improving business by setting themselves apart from the competition(Ives, Olson & Baroudi,2013) References Benbasat, I., Goldstein, D.
