Problem description Information technology has made vast changes to industries in last decades. As it’s getting busier each day, gathering and securely storing information to an electronic system helps to easier the work and consumes the time of medical staff and the patient as well. Also it will reduce the cost which an individual has to pay(Australian Digital Health Agency, 2015). ‘My Health Record’ is an electronic health record system for the patients which help to add summary of their health information from the existing records and is designed to be integrated in to existing local clinical systems. Therefore, the patient doesn’t need to carry any medical certificates or past health documents when they have this system. They can easily review their information through ‘My Health Record’ system. Not only for the patients, but also this will make healthcare facility faster with the easy access to more health information by improving an efficient system. Also, Health care professionals can save time and improve their treatment decisions through this to maximize the quality of life of the patient(Department of Health, 2013). System capabilities Patient’s health status and other medical information will be make available online and can be viewed from any place such as imaging centres, hospitals and pharmacies. All the data can handle or control in a skilful manner. All the patient’s medical history can be record Patients can share their medical reports through ‘My Health Record’. Health care providers will be able to communicate the patients information securely to improve the quality of care they provide(Australian Digital Health Agency, 2015). This has an easy access with smart devices and anyone can check their health history anytime. System can categorize number of patients suffering from particular diseases System can recognize plague rates Benefits of system • More convenient – Patient don’t have to carry out all the medical documents. Easy to prove the user’s medical status via ‘My Health Record’ Patient don’t have to remember the prescribed medications or any other details given by health professional as it can be directly apply to their account. • Improving safety All the health care facilities will save their time by easy recognizingsystem which helps to get right decisions at the right time. In an emergency situation, ‘My Health Care’ system will be very useful for health care providers to provide best and fast treatment options for the patients.
