a) Problem (2 marks):Despite, people increasingly shop online the physical store still have many customers visits especially for clothes and Fashion shops due to the lack of “try on” ability when shopping online. Most of the time customer faced problems when shopping garment online such as unfitted sizes or it doesn’t look good as wearing by models or be shown in the picture.
b) Ideas (2 marks): The fitting problem would be solved by developing the virtual fitting technology which can create 3D modelling of individual body shape and face. The technology will be able to scan the body measure and face via computer, phone camera or measure information provided by customer to replicate the individual onto the website then provide functions to try on different clothes with recommendation of the best fit size.
2 Major Innovation Failures (4 marks):
1. Poor Communication: it is possible that communications between different departments in our company can miscommunicate or misunderstand each other. Reasons can range from their lack of understanding of different expertise perspective which may lead to misinterpretation of the original demand.
2. Feature Quality: outfit coordination on our service may differ from the expectations the consumer has, as the fittings and the design of the clothing can appear differently in our 3D model as to real life. This will be our services’ biggest flaw/ failure as we cannot deliver a perfectly accurate data of the clothing and material.
3) Discuss the benefit and value of the idea to society and community (2 marks):
The virtual fitting innovation will benefit both sellers and customers by reducing a number of product’s returns and increasing customers’ satisfaction. When customer have great experience while shopping online, it will also raise sales rate and benefit the organization competitive capability.
