Criteria & Marking: This is a group assignment (2-3 students per group). The assignment should be approximately 3,200 words in length (+/- 10%). The sections in the assignment report must be structured according to the requirements listed in the task descriptions.
Specific requirements and marking criteria will be made available on Learning@Griffith.
Description: In this task, you will be asked to develop a case study on project risk management and control. The case study should be based on a real-life project, and should consist of the following main sections:
1. Background of the project – this section should include some basic details of the project (project location, requirements, outcomes, etc.).
2. Project risk management – in this section, you are required to list and explain THREE most important risks in the project. You are also required to describe how these risks are managed.
3. Project control system – this section should describe the overall project control system as well as some specific control techniques, KPIs, etc. used in the project.
4. Critical evaluation – this section should provide a critical evaluation on how effective the above risk management and project control is. This has to be linked well with the theories covered in the class.
5. Conclusion – highlight and explain key lessons learned from this case study.
You can choose any project that is relevant to your discipline study area. Only one project is required. The project may be based on your own experience or secondary sources (reports, articles, etc.).
