Assess your level of Emotional Intelligence by filling in each quadrant as directed below:
The first quadrant deals with knowing your emotions. Write a short statement of 15 words or less which reflects the level to which you feel you know your own emotions and accept your own strengths and weaknesses.
The second quadrant deals with how you “emote” in social situations. Social situations include classes, business situations, in short, anytime you are in an environment with other people. Are you able to feel empathy for others; can you understand others’ needs? Write a short statement of 15 words of less which reflects the level to which you feel you can understand your emotions when you are in social situations.
The third quadrant deals with your ability to control and manage your emotions. This includes following through on commitments you may have made. In no more than 15 words, write a statement which reflects your feelings on how well or how little you are able to control and manage your emotions.
The fourth and final quadrant deals with your ability to build and maintain good social relationships and to inspire others. It also touches on the ability to manage conflicts with a positive result. In no more than 15 words, write a statement which reflects how well or how little you are able to control and manage social relationships. Remember, the word social in this sense involves any environment in which you are involved with others.
Finally, beneath the Concept Map, briefly analyze in no more than a well written paragraph, how Emotional Intelligences integrates with the Dispositions Rubric you filled out during the first week of this module.
