Task One
Context:
Using your own workplace or a chosen organisation within the sector of the health and social care sector you are required to complete a journal, of 1,500 – 2000 words, based on how communication skills are used in your place of work.
Your journal should address how the communication skills used do the following:
• Promote communication and interaction within the setting;
• Reflect on theories of communication, (Humanistic, Behavioural, Cognitive and Psychoanalytical) and give examples of how these theories are applied in your workplace;
• Address and review methods for dealing with inappropriate interpersonal communication.You will then need to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each method, and make suggestions as to how they can be improved.
You should then conclude your journal by analysing the use of strategies, (such as Braille, signing and translation) that are used to support specific communication needs in your workplace.
Submission Format
This assignment is in the form of a journal of a suggested word count of1,500 – 2,000 words. Font size 12. Where appropriate you should support your submission with existing research and sources and reference this accordingly using the Harvard referencing system.
