Your journal should address how the communication skills used do the following: • Promote communication and interaction within the setting; • Reflect on theories of communication, (Humanistic, Behavioural, Cognitive and Psychoanalytical) and give examples of how these theories are applied in your workplace; • Address and review methods for dealing with inappropriate interpersonal communication.You will then need to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each method, and make suggestions as to how they can be improved. You should then conclude your journal by analysing the use of strategies, (such as Braille, signing and translation) that are used to support specific communication needs in your workplace.
