Introduction Health promotion has the capacity to make real differences to the lives of individuals, communities and the natural environment, as well as contribute to health equity. There are many challenges for the 21st century which impact on health: climate change, increasing urbanisation, globalization, digital communication, technological innovations, increasing gradient between rich and poor and many more. In this second assessment task you will assess ONE health promotion intervention/program/action for its capacity to meet the challenges of the 21st century for people and planet. The aim of the assessment task is to assess your health promotion intervention against the sections in the AT2 Outline which itemises the challenges for the 21st century. It is NOT to assess how well the health promotion interventions have met their stated objectives. To undertake assessment task 2 you will form student pairs in your seminar group (online Cloud students will be allocated by your seminar tutor, Nicole). From the list of health promotion options your pair will choose/be allocated ONE health issue and population group and TWO health promotion interventions. You will be timetabled in either week 10 or 11 to present a joint presentation (10 minute, 15%) on your health issue and population group including an assessment of BOTH health promotion interventions' capacity to address 21st century challenges. Following this you will write up and submit an INDIVIDUAL report on your ONE chosen health promotion intervention (45%, 3000 words, Thursday 1st June 5pm via cloud Dropbox).
