Project Vision Document: A Case Study of My Health Record Understanding the Problem Charles Sturt University Project Vision Document: Project Title: Implementation of My Health Record System in Australia Project Description: The purpose of the project is to deliver an information system called My Health Record to the Commonwealth Government of Australia. The government will integrate the system into every single clinical system. In terms of carrying out the project successfully, the project will consist of several phases called requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing and deployment. The project will deliver a system that can provide the data stored in the clinical systems to the doctors and patients. Deliverable: The deliverable of the project is as following. A system that can collect data from various health care systems A system that can connect all the clinical systems A system that can prevent the cyber attacks Delivering the My Health Record Information System Functionalities: Registration and Secure Login: The system will register the users in its own database and provide secure login if the id and password matches. Data collection: One of the major functionality is collecting data. Data represent: Providing the data into the users screen. Technologies: Cloud: The system will store the data collected from the clinical systems temporarily. Software Platform: The system will be implemented on specific software platforms. Target Audience: The target audience of the system is the patients and the healthcare centers of Australia. Problems: It is common in information system development to face issues at the beginning, during and end of the project. The issues that may appear in this My Health Record project are as following. Securing against cyber-attacks: As the frequency of the cyber attacks are increasing each year, the project team must be able to configure the system in such a way that it can prevent the cyber attacks. The system can be hacked through getting access to any clinical system. Data presentation: The system is responsible for gathering data from the clinical system and provide it to the users through the application. Different systems consist of different databases and creating the system to fetch data from all the databases regardless of its database platform is a big issue. Capabilities: Setting communication between various clinical systems: The system will be able to establish a connection among all the clinical systems that are available in the Australia. The communication will so strong that the other clinical systems can retrieve the data of the patient from other system in a matter of second. Handling authorization: Providing authorization rights on a system that depends on the data of the other systems is a strong aspect for any information system. Benefits: The benefits that the users will receive from the system are as following. Improved healthcare: The system will provide the advantage of gathering the patient past treatment associated data easily and accurately. Reduce treatment cost: The patient do not need to do the same tests again and again if they visit the new doctor. Better decision making: As the doctors will be able to see all the past treatment processes and health records of the patient, they can take the treatment associated decisions easily.
