Management is the pursuit of ‘flexibility’   The hospitality industry faces a positive impact with respect to productivity of labor, quality of service and the profits due to the flexibility in the industry. When the managementtakes up numerical flexibility, it causes a negative impact on the attitudes of the employees ( Mok et al. 2013).Research has shown that the hotel industry has not mastered the art of functional flexibility in a proper manner. The management needs to identify the variables that are present in the organization so that it can influence the attitudes and the behaviors of the employees with respect to flexibility. The flexibility of the employees are divided in to three levels that are flexibility towards the employer, colleagues and the guests. Employer flexibility is the following of rules and regulations by the employees that are laid down in the industry. To be flexible towards the colleagues means to give them assistance and support that they need if they face any issues in the work or in a stressful situation. With respect to flexibility towards the guests, it means that the employees need to have a positive attitude when the guests need any help and full attention needs to be given to them (Hoque 2013).
