Task
Part A
In this task you will determine the future human resources needs in collaboration with relevant managers and sections.
Participate in strategic planning to determine the organisation’s priorities in recruiting based on expected growth and answer the following questions to determine how you determine future HR needs. In the Introduction to your report:
Outline the relevant managers and sections you consulted and collaborated with and the form this consultation and collaboration took.
As an outcome of this strategic planning, identify ONE position the organisation has determined as being a high priority for recruitment action.
In the body of your report develop a recruitment strategy to fill the position identified in point 1. Your strategy needs to comply with your organisation’s Recruitment, Selection and Induction policy and procedures, as modified in Assessment 1, and cover each of the following points. Justify each step based on budgetary considerations and comparison to alternate strategies:
Review and justify the need to fill the position as a high priority.
List the selection criteria you will use to cull applicants to identify who you would interview and how you will use the chosen selection methods to differentiate between candidates to gain a sufficient range of information to make a selection decision.
Examine the available supply of suitably qualified potential employees including diversity requirements, in the internal and external labour markets. Based on this analysis, will you recruit from within or external to the organisation?
Where and when will the position be advertised, consider the cost and type of advertising in your choice. An approximate cost is sufficient.
Who has responsibility for the recruitment and selection process? Outline the feasibility of outsourcing versus internal co-ordination by examining the cost and available resources to support each approach.
Consider the following range of selection methods including utilising specialists. Briefly describe each method and choose the method(s) that will be used. Justify the method(s) selected based on cost and relevance to the position.
