Purpose:
The purpose of this assignment is to assess your ability to develop a remuneration strategy Job evaluation is fundamental task in remuneration management and HRM practitioners will be expected to be able to undertake this task.
Your task is to evaluate five civil engineering jobs and present a pay structure in a report.
Instructions
Using the ASCE Guidelines for Engineering Grades your task is to evaluate five civil engineering jobs:
Bridge engineer,
Project engineer,
Construction engineer,
Civil engineer, and
Roadway/highway engineer.

Determine the classification level of each position using the ASCE Guideline for Engineering Grades Establish pay rates for the all of the jobs in the job structure by
(a) Identifying a benchmark job for the job structure,
(b) Determining a competitive pay rate for the benchmark job using O*Net Online

You need to justify your decision making and strategies adopted using data from your analysis and the research. It is expect that you would demonstrate the latest thinking in your analysis and discussion and use at least 10 high quality journal articles.

5. Explore the issues of equity and fairness in designing reward systems (GA 4, 5, 6)
