Write one procedure for any business process in a company.
Your procedure can be one of the mandatory procedures that every company should have in order to obtain certificate according to standard requirements ISO 9001:2015, or you can choose some other process that is essential for the business of the certain company.
Company can belong both to manufacturing or service sectors, any industry that you like.
Procedure should include all aspects that I mentioned, and should be written in form that is acceptable for ISO 9000:2015 standard. You can find many examples online and in the literature.
In the attachment you can find my presentations about ISO 9000:2015 standard and How to Write Procedure.
Each procedure that you write should include following:
- Purpose
- Scope
- Definitions
- Responsibilities
- Procedure/Instructions
- Revision History and
- Flowchart.
These are also some additional instructions that I wanted to share with you:
- Try to think of a name of a company or organization, don't just write "Sample company" or "Some organization"
- Think about PURPOSE and SCOPE of your procedure, and write them precisely and properly
- Number of activities in parts Responsibilities, Procedure/Instructions and on the flowchart must be the same.
- Each procedure must have some sort of inputs in order to start. Someone should initiate the whole process, it must have beginning and the end as well.
- Try to include all the necessary documents and records and to really think about which documents and records should be used within your procedure (from the very beginning until the end) and involve them in the flowchart as well. Documents and records are also very important parts of any procedure.
- REVISION HISTORY is something that is very important in the real business, and it should contain the history of the document from the first release to the most current version. The first release can be shown with a letter “A” or “1” in the “Revision Letter” field in the header information within the Writing Format.
When it comes to this task and procedure that you are writing now, you can only mark that this is the first version of the procedure, that it was still not revised. On the other hand, you can also mark it as a version that was previously revised in order to practice.
Please just try to think about all activities logically, to make the sequence and to avoid any misunderstanding for the ones who might read your procedure in the future.
