"a) Write a report to examine how effective the (very) “Modern Theories
of Trade” are as an explanation of world trade patterns in certain
parts of the world (50% marks).
b) Explain how these “partial” trade theories can be seen as better
ways to explain modern trade patterns, using 2 country examples
to illustrate your point (50% marks)."
Rubric for report submission;
1. This is a report to be produced in pairs (70% weight).
2. The assignment must have attached to it a completed Peer
Assessment form, for the group report- see attached appendix
3. All the data and information you need to complete this assignment is in
the public domain and is easily accessible via electronic means.
4. Your answer should be presented in report format.
5. Your report should be 3000 words (+/- 10%). (Excluding Appendices
and Bibliography).
6. References should follow the Harvard formatting conventions, as noted
in your programme handbooks. All reports should be fully supported
with a relevant set of references/bibliography.
7. Submit your report to the Student advice Centre no later than 1 pm;
Semester 2 – May the 31st 2017.
8. The marked work will be graded and your grade will be subject to
ratification by the External Examiner at the Examination Board.
9. Formal grading descriptors for assignments are available in your
programme handbook.
10. You are reminded of the University’s rules on plagiarism which are
rigorously enforced. Please consult the student regulations and/or your
programme leader for further details.
11. You will also be required to submit a copy via Turnitin on the modules
blackboard site.
