Assessment 4: Formal Report on current graduate recruitment strategies Weighting: 30% Length: 1000 words Description: This task requires students to investigate the techniques used by recruiters and employers to select staff in order to make recommendations for strategies students could use in their job seeking activities. Recruitment has gone well beyond application letter/resume so students need to be familiar with some of the different ways in which employers will assess them. Your report is written to Donna Smith, the representative of that year’s graduating cohort. The recruitment techniques you choose to investigate may include behavioural interviewing, psychological testing, group interviewing, internships, use of Linkedin, video interviewing and use of mobile platforms in recruitment, online profiles vs resumes, cadetships and internships, networking and the importance of breadth of experience in demonstrating skills. Students will need to limit their discussion to one or two techniques. **See careers service website: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/student/careers/ **Also log onto CareerHub for additional resources (student number and ID) https://careerhub.adelaide.edu.au/students/login?ReturnUrl=%2f (EG: Look under Resources tab and search psychometric) You can search many recruitment techniques using this method) We discussed in class (Interview Stream, LinkedIn and Gamification strategies in our group discussion) Other key websites to investigate to get a feel for recruitment strategies include: https://adelaide.interviewstream.com/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2f http://www.revelian.com/cognify/ https://www2.deloitte.com/au/en/careers/students.html?icid=top_students https://www2.deloitte.com/au/en/pages/careers/articles/how-to-apply-careers.html https://gradaustralia.com.au/accounting This is just a start.
