Objectives: Case studies are exercises intended to: 1. Help you consolidate the material covered in lectures; 2. Count towards the class participation component of the assessment.
Instructions: Your responses to these case studies are to be submitted via the Assessments tab on UTSOnline. Go to Assessments module, Assessment Task 1 folder, and use Turnitin link. What you are required to do is to participate in the lectures, work with your colleagues in teams, and develop your solutions. However, you need to submit the solutions individually. Do not copy other students’ work. Reference other people’s work correctly. There will be no written feedback on individual responses; however, general feedback will be provided during the lectures.

Parking in a Busy City Parking cars in the city has become a key challenge for people who live in a city like Sydney in the world. People often travel to Central Business District (CBD) or Downtown for various reasons such as entertainment (movie, concert, shows, restaurants etc.) and appointments (legal, accounting, medical etc.). What are the common parking issues we face? Not enough off-street parking space (reduced even further because of bike lanes) Local city residents do not have their own car space in their house/apartments Too expensive Short time duration in off-street parking (5 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hr, etc.) A lot of time wasted to find a spot (time wasted) Parking fines are very high Discuss with your group members in the class and answer the following questions: 1. What other possible parking issues people face? 2. What types of data and information you would require to look at these parking problems? 3. Where will you find those data and information?

Crime Prediction Based On Crime Types and Using Spatial and Temporal Criminal Hotspots

What are their contributions from their work? (Please include crime elements, methods and results in your discussion) 2) They have also continued their study to predict the crime type. Discuss their process and outcomes from the predictive analysis. 3) Explore other variables that you think could help the law enforcement and to keep the community safe.
