Evaluation Assignment
- Academic Essay (100%)
- Obligatory Title
Too often discussions of organisational change focus upon the
procedures and problems of ‘change management’ when the focus
should be upon the s******s and processes of ‘change leadership’. Discuss.
- Word limit: 3000 (2500 words academic essay + 500 words reflective
statement)
- Assessment Brief:
In an essay of 2500 words critically discuss the title above:
Drawing on relevant literature a good answer should clearly identify a
deeper understanding of the nature of organisational change, its
management and leadership. The essay must provide a critical analysis
and exploration of the issues under consideration – clearly linking
academic theories and concepts to the question provided. The
assessment must be supported by relevant academic sources, theories
and concepts and comply with the academic essay format and Harvard
referencing guidelines. Furthermore, the essay should not be descriptive
in nature, but rather provide clear evidence of a critical understanding of
the issues under consideration. There is no correct number of academic
references to be utilised, as the student must draw on as many
references required in order to provide a high quality answer. However, a
minimum of 25 academic sources are expected, and a majority of these
should be current, internationally, peer reviewed articles (This is not to
say that older, seminal work should not be referred to). Sources such as
Wikipedia and the like are not acceptable for this assessment. Sources
only available online should also be avoided.
Following the essay, provide a 500 word reflective statement to capture
reflections of your experiences during th************Pass************ent).
This should be centred on what you have learned throughout the
process, and can include your thoughts and deliberations on any aspect.
It may be that the presentation element was particularly challenging, or
that you found another aspect uncomfortable but rewarding.
This reflective statement is likely to be personal to you and as we all learn
in different ways it will therefore be unique. There is no set structure for
this and you may lay out the work in any way that you wish. It should be
written in the first person (the 2500 word academic essay must be
written in third person) and should centre on what you have learned
rather than what you did. Remember, description is not reflection!
