The purpose of this assignment is to apply management concepts and practices to develop a business plan. All learning outcomes as per the Course Outline will be partially assessed. OVERVIEW This team* assessment is divided into two parts namely: PART ONE: Team Presentation PART TWO: Team Business Plan Part One (10%) and Part Two (40%) are worth up to 50% of your overall mark for this course. You are required to have a nominated team member submit the Business Plan component of the assignment on behalf of the team* to Canvas/Turnitin on or before the due date (Friday 23 June - 23:00). Provide a coversheet with the course code, your team name, student ID numbers and names of all team members clearly indicated. * Names of team members must be provided to your lecturer or you will be randomly allocated to a group. If you find you are not part of a group it is your responsibility to discuss this with your lecturer.2 | P a g e Your Team Presentation will take place in class during Week 7 (Week commencing 19 June). Please note that (as indicated in the Course Outline) late assignments/assessments without a valid extension will be subject to penalties and may result in a mark of zero (0%) being applied. The marking criteria at the end of this assignment brief should be used as a ‘checklist’ before you submit your work for grading. It will help you to determine if you have answered all aspects of the assignment brief as well as highlight any potential gaps in your work. Professional presentation of work is expected including appropriate referencing (both in-text and a complete Reference List) using the APA format. Review the APA (version 6) referencing style guide available on the MIT Library website: http://library.manukau.ac.nz/apareferencing IMPORTANT The following table detailing participation of individual team members needs to be completed and included in the appendices of the Business Plan. The team is to decide on a score for each individual team member that indicates level of participation, with 100% being the expected default indicating full participation. If the team allocates a lesser percentage to an individual, then this may be used to adjust that individual team member’s mark. The individual participation score received will be factored into the total assignment mark awarded to determine an individual mark for that particular team member e.g. if the team receives a group mark of 80% a 50% individual participation score will result in 80 X 0.5 = 40% for that individual team member (if a team member has fully participated [100%] then they will receive the full mark awarded 80 X 1.0 = 80%). Full Name ID Participation score awarded by team (default 100%) Team Meeting Minutes must also be included as an appendix to your Business Plan (not included in word count of the assignment).3 | P a g e ___________________________________________________________________________________________ PART ONE Team Presentation (all team members) (20 marks – weighting 10%) Word limit: Not applicable- PowerPoint, Prezi or alternative presentation tools may be used Instructions  Confirm with your lecturer the specific timing of your presentation in Week 7.  Consult the marking criteria at the end of this document to guide the preparation of your presentation.  Prepare a team presentation of approximately 10-15 minutes duration that provides sufficient context and ‘sells’ your Business Plan.
