Game Development
Worth: 20% of your grade
Due: Friday the 4th of May by 5:30pm
Introduction:
The assignment 2 focuses on the design and development of components common to modern video games.
Strategy Board Game Development:
Your task: For assignment 2 you will create a simple hardcopy strategy board game based on the following guidelines:
• The board must be composed of a grid.
• Each player must have access to and control multiple tokens of various types.
• The game requires resources, token attributes, and associated costs for creating tokens with the defined resources
• Different tokens types, must be related in a "technology tree" meaningful to the game.
• You must include a clear 'Rules of Play' brochure that comes with the physical board game. It should not only describe the rules clearly, but also the resources required and the number of players required for the game.
The strategy board game can be designed using computer software, but must be submitted as hard copy. The hard copy can be completed using pen and paper tools, or through printing and cutting out by hand each necessary component. In either case the submission must give a visual design of the game and an accompanying written description of how the game works.
You are to submit document and archive file as your assignment to the Assignment 2 dropbox on Moodle by the due date.
