You should answer all parts of each question. Start each question on a separate page. You should write objectively in the third person (not using I or my). It is recommended that approximately 500 words are used to answer each question, however this is for your guidance only and you may choose to use more of your words on one question and less on another. The number of marks allocated to each section is a useful guide to the amount of content that is required in your answer. Confidentiality It is important that confidentiality and anonymity are maintained and so, neither your name or workplace location should be identified from your work. Criteria for a pass 40% in each assessment element and 40% overall. Reassessment is as per the regulations in the Student Guide. Style Use objective impersonal language and avoid personal expressions such as I think... or I would advise... or in my opinion... If you are writing about, for example, taking a history from a patient, do remember to provide sufficient detail. If you mention symptoms, say what the specific symptoms are. The same goes for monitoring: what is the relevance, why are you doing it, what are you looking for? If you make a statement, always try to justify it and ask yourself questions such as Why? What? How? When? Providing the supporting information can make all the difference between a pass and an excellent piece of work. Please refer to the student support section of e-learning under the ‘help’ tab for further information on how to submit your work.
