Week 1 Assignment: Choose Potential Topics and Reference management system. a) for three part assignment, you will work on narrowing down a topic related to your degree and specialization( Doctor of Philosophy in Business Admin. specialization: International Business) you should develop your search 'toolbox" (use chapter 3 in the literature review. A step-by-step Guide for studies as a guide). In addition, you will identify resources and search engines al intended to help think about a topic you'll like to research and you can get started. This is preparation for the next task completing an exhaustive review of the literature. Part 1: Based on my observation/ interest, look through journals in my field( International Business) and choose 2 to 3 general potentials topics in area of study. This doesn't mean that you should pick a specific area with a research question in mind. Instead identify broad area of interest from which you could derive a research topic. Example:, a broad topic might be leadership styles among various corporate CEOs and a specific research focus or question might be what is the most effective leadership style for the type of industry the corporation is in? However, the literature needs to support the need for further inquiry into a topic vs just basing it on interest. In choosing a topic, be sure to be keep in mind whether you are seeking a research degree(PHD) or Professional degree(DBA). I'm seeking(DBA). Review the Dissertation Center documents entitled Differentation PHD and applied Doctorates for a discussion regarding the differences between PHD and DBA degrees. This part of the assignment, with 2 page paper that describes each of your general topic, and discuss degreeto which each potential topic is worthy of doctoral-level study in your specialization and degree type Part 2: write 1 page response identifying several search terms of peer-received resources for each potential topic area as potential resources and research engines you used to obtain scholarly sources.(be sure to include at least on journal reference per idea to demonstrate you examined the literature. Part 3:Using chap 3 in Ridley(2012). The literature review; A Step-by-step Guide for students as a guide as well as the NCU library resource Organization Research, compare and contrast the different references management or filing systems you could use for researches. what you see as the advantage and disadvantage of each? On your analysis of these systems ,which you think best fit as you begin review literatute and why? write 2 page response evaluating each system,include which one chose see this system help you as you continue with your academic career.
