RESEARCH ON EFFECTS OF CREEP AND SHRINKAGE OF A PYLON. Aim: Research on effects of Creep and Shrinkage of a Pylon and how it effects the cable system. Objectives: To find how the pylon (H, A and inverted Y type of pylon) deforms with the effect of creep and shrinkage and change in the geometric properties. To know how the cable system are effects with deformed shape of pylon and stiffness of cable system. I am using three distinct types of cable system in my bridge models so I can see how these cable systems will react. Load variations after the effect of cable stay system and vibrations of the span (how the span reacts with effect of cable stay system). Parametric study of concrete strength (how creep and shrinkage effect the concrete and its properties). Project details: Using Midas civil software create three cable stay bridges which consists of different pylon and cable system as mention, Cable stay bridge H-Type pylon with Harp cable system. Cable stay bridge A-Type pylon with fan cable system. Cable stay bridge Inverted Y-Type pylon with modified Harp cable system. To find the effect of creep and shrinkage of pylon, steel material is used for span deck and concrete material for Pylon. Approximately one mile of bridge span length is used.
