Assignment https://moodle.cqu.edu.au/mod/assign/view.php?id=473056[28/07/2017 09:42:10] Assessment Task: In the introductory session, students will be placed into their groups, and each group will have one of Mintzberg’s 7 organisational configurations assigned to their group (for On-campus students – assigned in class; for Flex, PNG, and Rocky students - assigned after discussion with groups) . Students must work together as a group to prepare, and deliver a presentation that addresses the following criteria: Use an appropriate (real) organisational example to illustrate and explain their allocated configuration, Outline the organisation’s structural characteristics using key terms including complexity, centralisation and levels of formalisation, the key parts and prime coordinating mechanism, Identify the implications of working in this structure with regards to career development and the management of people. Mintzberg’s 7 configurations listed below is discussed in detail under "Topic 1A – Understanding Organisational Context: The Structural Framework". 1. The Entrepreneurial or simple structure 2.
