Section A: Report (100 marks)
Description of the problem:
In this assignment, you are required to identify a company/organization from the following category, describe its organization and map out its major business processes. When mapping out the processes, you have to identify and study the business activities and/or areas where information systems can be used.

⦁ Food & Beverage (e.g. McDonalds, Pizza Hut)

⦁ Logistics (e.g. FedEx, DHL)
⦁ Hypermarket (e.g. NTUC Fairprice, Cold Storage, Sheng Siong)
You are required to do your research and support your findings with relevant materials (i.e. articles, case studies, videos) where possible and include all the references in your report.
Your assignment should include the following:
⦁ Write a short outline of the company/organization you have chosen. Some of the areas you could highlight are its services, customer base, scale of operation, length of operation and any other interesting facts about the organization.
Apple Inc., fused on January 3, 1977, plans, makes and markets versatile correspondence and media gadgets, PCs and compact advanced music players. The Organization offers a scope of related programming, administrations, adornments, organizing arrangements and outsider advanced substance and applications. One interesting fact apple fact is you cannot smoke near your apple computers as it invalidates your warranty. Human resource planning is the process by which an organization ensures that it has the right number and kind of people, at the right places, at the right time, capable of effectively and efficiently completing those tasks that will help the organization achieve its overall objectives.
The Human Resource planning process start from Organizational objectives, and to the Human resource needs and supply forecast, to Human resource programming, HR implementation and Control and evaluation of their programme.
Their Company Objectives tend to be different from others as they want to be different from their competitors. Think differently is a concept that the company does very well by creating innovative products that continue to define the world of computer design.
Demand forecasting
means the process of estimating the quantity and quality of people required to meet future needs of the organization.
Supply forecast
measures the number of people likely to be available from within and outside an organization.

Once an
organization’s
personnel demand and
supply is forecast, the two must be
reconciled or balanced in order that vacancies can be filled by the right employees at the right time.
Implementation requires converting an HR plan into action.

The HR plan should include budgets, targets
and standards. It should also clarify
responsibility for implementation and control, and establish reporting procedures which will enable achievements to be monitored against the plan.

Complete the assignment Cover sheet (download from MeL) with your student number, name and tutorial group and add it as the first page of your document. Save the file in Word Document format as .doc. Please name your file as Tutorial Group-Your name-EIS Assignment. (E.g. P01--EIS Assignment)
Step1 – Access the Enterprise Information Systems folder in MeL. Click on Assignment.
Step 2 – Locate the SafeAssign Submission area. Click on EIS Assignment.
