• Question 1:
To critically evaluate your organisation's midstream value chain and
assess the logistical and operational challenges it is facing
alongside its midstream value chain. This section should cover 2 of
its main products. (LO1)
o Critically evaluate your chosen organisation’s midstream value
chain in terms of its configuration and coordination and in
relation to 2 of its main products (you could consider the 2
products mentioned in the introduction section above)o Next, you are required to identify specific logistics and
operations challenges facing your organisation when moving
both products.
Please note, that depending on the adopted supply chain
configuration, midstream O&G logistics and operations can
also cut through the upstream and downstream part of the
O&G industry.

To critically analyse the issues facing your organisation alongside
its downstream sector. This section should cover at least 2 of the

o If you did briefly describe the downstream value chain of your
organisation in the introduction section above, next you need in
this section/paragraph to expand on this by carrying a critical
evaluation of your chosen organisation’s downstream service
operations aimed at its B to B or B to C customers. The focus
shall be on the 2 services announced in the introduction section.
The list of issues to consider in not exhaustive and could include
anything ranging from

• Question 3:
To conduct a review of the methods of planning and organising
efficient Upstream, Midstream or Downstream operations. You are
required to cover only one of the 3 sectors in this section. (LO3)
o This section can be covered in a separate section or within
both sections discussed above.
o The focus shall be on Planning and Controlling efficient O&G
operations. You could reflect on the logistics and operations
discussions carried earlier in relation to the products and
services outlined. In addition, you could factor your chosen
organisation’s business environment constraints as well s its
medium and long terms objectives in the planning andorganisation of its activities in relation to any one of its
Upstream, Midstream or Downstream operations
• Question 4:
To assess potential human behavioural issues pertaining to the
execution of their operations strategy in any of its 3 Oil and Gas
sectors (Upstream, Midstream or Downstream sector). In addition,
you are expected to recommend methods of mitigating the identified
issues. (LO4)
o Briefly describe the purpose of HR in general terms and critically
evaluate specific issues facing employees operating in the
Upstream, Midstream or Downstream part of your chosen
organisation O&G sector when executing their operations
strategies.
o You could provide a brief overview of specific operations targets
and related strategies.
o The discussion should outline potential HR challenges your
organisation is facing or might face during its operations, and
discuss ways of mitigating them.
• Conclusion
Brief summary of the key findings for each of the paragrapghs /
sections above
• Need to be drawn from the discussions developed in the main body
• Need to triangulate (reflect) with the introduction and the main body.
•Recommendations
• Need to be drawn from the investigations carried
• Need to specifically target the issues / opportunities identified while
covering the topics identified in the paragraphs above to ensure
consistency
• Should be logical and aligned with the introduction, the main body, and
the conclusion sections

Finally:
• Add a cover page with your name, ID number, and module code
• Adopt a professional format with justified text among others
• Pages should be numbered
• Include numbered heading and subheadings
• Add some figures and tables if appropriate
• Avoid the use of too many bullet points within the work• Reference within the work and adequately use the Harvard
conventions of referencing in the main body and in the
bibliography section
• Avoid being too descriptive – be critical – contrast different
authors viewpoints for example
• Check the work for spelling errors and wording before
submission. Someone might help in this regard.
