I will be explaining the assignment in detail in this class and groups will be established so attendance is highly recommended! The activity will require you to use your s******s and knowledge of Group Dynamics to “pitch and present an idea that may be considered a professional development idea in your future workplace” IT IS MORE ABOUT THE PROCESS THAN THE PRODUCT! IF YOU HAVE A PRODUCT TO SHOW DURING THE PRESENTATION IT OFTEN SELLS THE IDEA MORE EASILY…DO NOT SPEND MONEY …I AM MORE INTERESTED IN THE IDEA! DO NOT ACTUALLY FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE IDEA AS IT IS NOT REQUIRED! Please pre-read the article under course announcements titled “Group Dynamics” and “Team Dynamics / Tuckman” links for Friday August 4, class discussion. You will be asked to eventually form groups of 3-4 students. Within the teams, students are to plan and present an activity based on the principles of team building and personal development in the work place as governed by the professional objectives of the workplace. (see below) The project needs to be organized and presented in the following way under the timelines provided. All students in the group must contribute and participate equally in this activity. Please let the professor know if there are issues as early as possible. PART A DUE: Aug. 4 by 2:30 Team Dynamics lecture / working as a team and your role in professional development Groups will be formed and topics discussed Work period for your group to establish the roles through Tuckman’s stages of group development Please tell the professor you topic choice for approval to move forward with the assignment ************************ or in class today before 2:30. IF NOT APPROVED YOU CANNOT MOVE FORWARD! PART B DUE: Aug. 10 Prepare the TUCKMAN report to be submitted to the professor by the end of the day 2:30. This report will detail the 5 stages that your group worked through while preparing the presentation. Please report on each stage using the 5 subheadings: Tuckman's 5 stages of Group Development 1. Forming, 2. Storming, 3. Norming, 4. performing, 5. Adjourning (approx. 1 detailed paragraph each) Report the good and the bad. It is about the process! PART D Due: Aug. 10 Presentations; Time to “pitch your idea to the class (Dragons!) Today!” A mark will be allotted by the professor based on the submission of requested documentation, and professionalism throughout the process (see below).
