A screenshot or copy-and-paste of the Gantt chart must also be included in the MS Word report. • One (1) MS Excel spreadsheet for Task 4. A screenshot or copy-and-paste of the spreadsheet must also be included in the MS Word report. This is an individual assignment, and it is expected students answer the questions themselves. Scenario - Online Movie Ticket Sale Ordering Consider a project involving development of an Online Movie Ticket Sale Ordering system. The following System and Personnel Information is to be used in Tasks 2 and 3. The Financial Information is to be used in Task 4. System Information To watch movies, people can go online to order movie tickets. The tickets are available as adult tickets or concession tickets (at half the price of an adult ticket). With a concession ticket, each number of photographic concession card must be entered upon online ticket purchase. It is a sale condition that upon entries to the movie theatre, the card owner must produce a photographic concession identity card together with the purchased online ticket for admission to a movie. The Online Movie Ticket Sale Ordering System accepts only PayPal, Visa Card and Master Card for payments. Upon successful payments, people receive movie tickets also as receipts. At the end of each month, ticket office staff print month-end ticket sale report for each movie. Personnel Information The project team consists of 4 members. Each team member may take on different roles during the project, but only one role at a time. They foresaw a consistent recurring cost of $5,500 in using the technology with an expected discount factor of 7% within a 5-year period. They also worked out their forecasted benefits as $12,000.00, $15,000.00, $18,000, $21,000.00 and $24,000.00 in the 5-year period. Assessment Criteria For some tasks, marks are distinguished between “Content” and “Format”. That is: • Content refers to the information provided in the diagram or table. The content should be relevant for the specific task/scenario. For example, with a cost/benefit analysis the information or content is the numbers, calculations and required discussions. • Format refers to the layout and syntax used in the diagram or table. The format should follow that recommended in the Style Guide on Moodle (or if not covered in the Style Guide, then that used in lectures or the textbook). For example, with a cost/benefit analysis the spreadsheet must be laid out in a specific way, and be easy to read. System Development Methodology Provide a short description of each of the following system development methodologies, and then compare the two. Work Breakdown Structure For the online movie ticket sale ordering project, assume you have chosen Extreme Programming as a methodology, and have divided the project into three iterations based on features to be developed: 1. A movie, date/time and ticket can be selected. 2. Contact details are input and payment processed. 3. Reports/receipts are generated. Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for iteration 1. Although you may also create a WBS for other iterations, in this Task you should only submit the WBS for iteration 1. The WBS for other iterations will not be marked. The WBS must be created as a table, either directly in your MS Word report, or using other software (e.g. Excel, Project) and then copied/imported into your report. Explain the return on investment for the project, including when does return on investment mean, what is the value for this project, what that values means to the customer, and whether the project is worthwhile and should be continued or not.
