Assignment # 2
Construction Project Risks
INSTRUCTOR: Sarmad Kiani
CLASS: 2017S_CON 1013
Instructions:
The Assignment 2 for CON 1013 Project Managing, Scheduling and
Jobsite Planning is designed to allow the students to apply tools and
techniques that are discussed in class. The students are asked to
prepare some outputs of the project risk management processes in a
construction project.
Project will be delivered in the form of group assignment. Each group
must submit their project and present their final work based on the
evaluation timetable deadline. Project report should include cover sheet
with group team members. Consider the required project management
skills, tools and techniques when working in a group and try to make an
effective project team. Peer evaluation must be submitted in a separate
email to the instructor in a range of zero to hundred.
Project
Following a defined construction project in Project#1 of this course,
each group should deliver three major deliverables.
First, the students should list the major risks which can be identified in
their project. The identified risks should be separated by each stage or
phase of construction project life cycle. For each phase, at least 5 major
risks and minimum one positive risk should be identified. As on output,
the risk register should also be prepared.Project Managing, Scheduling

Second, each group must conduct a qualitative analysis. This analysis
should reflect the probability and impact on project’s objectives. For
each risk the score should be calculated and will be a base for
prioritizing project risks.
Finally, following the qualitative analysis, each group must prepare a
high-level risk response plan. This is a proactive approach which
determines what strategy can be appropriate for the identified risks of a
construction project.
See yourself as a construction project manager and you can make all
necessary assumptions during analysis.
Therefore, the main three outputs of this project are as follows:
Project risk register
Project risk analysis
Project risk response plan
Assessment Break down
Evaluation will be based on covering the outputs in a clear and accurate
way.
