• A production server can’t afford to restart at random
intervals to update, thus automatically update and
restarting is simply not feasible.
• In addition, another server might be serving
updates to the network through WSUS (Windows
Server Update Service) to reduce the bandwidth
used in updating each individual PCs and/or

Your assignment task for this week
• Record date, time
• Record all configuration updates you have made to the
server during this practical tasks. Add screen shots if
necessary to highlight the changes.
• Report any errors/warnings from the event viewer
• Create a custom counter on performance monitor that
shows processor time, TCP established connections,
system processes and thread parameters.
– Collect performance information for 5 min.
– Report the performance values of each parameter (with screen
shots)
• Record the server status at the time you have done
everything e.g. running normally or any observable issues.
