[A] My field of research is “Auditing”. In the current global scenario there has been an upsurge in the global collapses like HIH Insurance, Ansett, One Tel in Australia & Enron and World Com in United States, a sudden collapsecan have a greater impact in the economy as a whole. After this the professionals are blaming on the auditors, but the duty of the auditor is only to express an opinion on the financial statementsso the auditor is no where responsible if he performs his duty with his full competency and in an ethical manner. In this paper I want to highlight that though the auditor performs his duty well but their liability remains unlimited.
Since I am currently pursuing Masters in professional accounting, my core area of interests and studies relates to the same field. The role of auditors in the field of auditing will help me understand my future area of work i.e. being a CPA and hence it is pertinent to understand for me the core effect of auditing, its liabilities and how it vests on accounting profession and organizations in Australia. So my area of the work is “The effect of auditor’s liability on the accounting profession and organizations in Australia.”
[B] The topic covered by me has lots of data and information in published form which I can use in my research work as per the requirement.

[C] As stated earlier my topic for research would be “The effect of auditor’s liability on the accounting profession and organizations in Australia.” While doing this asset of question that arises in my mind and that can be answered by the secondary data sources are:
a. What are the roles & responsibilities of the auditor towards the organization they serve?
b. The accounting bodies like CPA (Certified Practicing Accountants) and IPA (The Institute of Public Accountant), how they are looking to safeguard the interest of the auditors?
c. What are the liabilities of the auditor towards the organization?
d. What roles and responsibility of the management of the organization?
e. Is there any financial implication on the auditor if they found guilty?
The secondary data set that I will be using will consists of past companies that have faced anauditing liability and the reason there of, what measures have been taken by authorities towards mitigating such liabilities and what is the end result of it. Hence I would rely on data published by the Australian Accounting bodies and authorities.
[D] The search terms to be used under google scholar would be “auditing”, “professional accounting”, and “auditor’s liability”, “Certified Practicing Accountants”, Institute of Public Accountant” and “Roles and Responsibilities of Auditors”.
[E] The five articles that will be picked is the ones listed above. The articles listed above helps me in my literature review as they provide insight on the accounting profession, the regulatory bodies and their regulations and how the accounting profession is shaping up i.e. auditors and the auditing regime amidst past events.

Marks:
This is more a literature review style project than a secondary research project, Anudeep. Pay close attention to the following advice.
A. Field of research.
There should be a solid thread, a solid connection, between your field (in this case marketing) your topic, your scholarly literature (with theory and other findings as a background) your secondary data, and then finally your research question and method of analysing it. All of these things should be ALIGNED nicely, that is, be related to or FIT WITH each other. The more closely aligned the better. If it reasonably well aligned, that’s also OK.
B. Source of Secondary Data. This is not a soruce of secondary data.…so please check following. To fully understand what I mean by secondary data, please review:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=660&v=rgAq0I_si_k
https://moodle.cqu.edu.au/pluginfile.php/492031/course/section/113044/primary%20and%20secondary%20data%20sources%20and%20research.pdf
So you need to firstly, find data, locate some variables in it and do some original analysis to it… It’s not enough to find some mention of findings (whether numbers or words) in someone else’s report or website, and then just report them on to us in your final project. That’s using that material as a ‘secondary’ or ‘primary’ SOURCE…. We want you to do something, some kind of ‘cooking’ and ‘cleaning’ to the data, so you can talk about something even SLIGHTLY new, something you created in this research project.
Later on after your RQs, you mention some other sources of potential secondary data…
C. Research Questions/Aims/Hypotheses.
These research questions cannot be answered with secondary data. Too many questions. Too broad. Focus. Give yourself a chance to answer them in 8 weeks…. Your research question needs to refer to variables that are present in the database or databases you’ve identified in B (above). So if your research question was to examine the “impact of online marketing on the sale of luxury goods in the Middle East” I would expect to find that your data contained some data on the sale of luxury good in the Middle East, and also data on the use of online marketing and NORMAL (not online) marketing, so you could do some kind of comparison. It would be great if you had similar data for a country that was NOT in the Middle East, so you could say things like “the evidence I’ve presented suggests that online marketing seems to be powerful in the marketing of luxury goods in Canada, in Kuwait traditional marketing still seems to be more potent.” Remember in your conclusions you should NOT claim things you have NOT found in your analysis.
D. Search terms. They are not very focused on your topic. Just give you some articles that will be general to al iterature review about auditing…but… Some of your quote marked search terms will nto work at all, producing zero results. For further advice, have a look at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_1M_BOCQS4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJe6biGl9m8
Are your terms the only and the best terms (from a disciplinary point of view) to describe the constructs/topic you are aiming at? Have you checked in the textbook(s) from your previous units to see what are the right key terms for the topic you are looking at? Keep your terms short, (in quote marks for more than one word, but try not use more than three words in a row in a search term, otherwise you will get NO ‘hits’).
E. Sentences, references. A few basic errors here. We were looking for two sentences with three references, and making sure that the two-reference sentence would provide an opportunity to show that you can digest the three articles and see that there are similarities in the heart of the articles, or differences…so sentences that say “both x and y believe that ….” Or “while x says this, y says that”. To do correct research work, even in a literature review section, it is important to read an article ‘deeply’ not just superficially, and work out the core messages. Students do have a tendency to read articles very superficially (if at all), and just reference them without much reading or thinking. As markers, we can pick up on that, and realise, “no the student has not read this really…or not understood.”
You have been a little careless with APA style. In fact, I don’t know what the five articlesa re… What is your reference list? I don’t have time to teach you how to do APA style…I’ve got a section on the Moodle site (Referencing: We Expect You To Get This Right), which you SHOULD DEFINITELY refer to. Every little thing counts here. So spaces between words. Full stops and commas. Correct capitalisation. It’s a quite simple recipe, as long as you stick to books and journals… If you want to reference other things, you will need to a proper APA style guide, and be super careful.
Remember in your ‘minimum of 20 articles’ target for the final assignment to focus on peer-reviewed scholarly publications as a base…and then you can have some industry sources on top of that.
Additional issues
You did not stick to one page, as requested. Please note it is really important to follow direct, clear instructions. If you don’t do so, this in itself causes a high risk of failure in this unit. In your final two assignments, make sure you are super careful with spelling and if possible get an English-as-a-first-language student or friend to check your work.
