Assessment Task Before the viva itself you will need to present your findings in a short 15 minute presentation. Following the presentation, there will be a viva voce when you will be questioned on, and need to defend, the approach taken to the audit as well as your findings. This viva voce may last up to 30 minutes. The Viva will be by SKYPE/Collaborate or in person and there will be two examiners including the module tutor. Assessment Grading Criteria This is a pass/fail assignment. Whether or not the standard of a pass at level 8 has been achieved will be determined by: 1. Timing of the presentation. Was it shaped to 1 minutes or did it have to be stopped. 2. The extent to which relevant literature has been used in shaping the audit 3. The robustness of the content and evidence of critical thinking in assessing research culture 4. Meaningful conclusions that are linked back to, and embedded in, the audit. 5. Answers to questions and engagement in discussions. Were questions listened to and understood? Were cogent answers provided? Assessment Learning Outcomes The learning outcomes being addressed through this assignment are: Knowledge and Understanding b) Critically examine approaches to leadership and management in the context of the planning and implementation of research-informed practice. Subject specific skills c) Conduct an extensive audit of the research culture within an organisation; e) Critically explore issues surrounding leadership and management strategies in the context of the planning and implementation of research-informed practice; Key Skills h) Learn to develop and express tangible and intangible Key Performance Indicators i) Communicate the results of audit and implementation plan effectively to professional colleagues. Assessment Submission To submit your work, please go to the ‘Submit your work’ area on the NILE site and use the PS1 submission point to upload your presentation. The deadline for this is 11.59pm (UK local time) on the date of submission which in the case of this assignment will be in advance of the verbal examination.An individual vice voce will be arranged to be undertaken within two weeks of the presentation submission date. These will be over a short period of time and once arranged each will have the same status as a fixed examination date. Assessment Support Comments will be provided on one draft presentation only.
