This group assignment involves a thorough financial analysis and assessment of a business organization. Each student must choose a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). The group size should ideally consist of four members. Each group should collect financial data for the selected company. The financial data should span a period of three consecutive recent years. The requisite financial data can be obtained from the ‘DatAnalysis’ database, which can be accessed online via the Swinburne Library, or the company’s website. Each group should perform the following tasks: • Examine the selected organization’s profile in terms of its history, strategy, current size, current market(s), as well as current products or services. • Assess the organization’s profitability, efficiency, liquidity, solvency, and share market performance over the selected time period .As part of this task, a selection of relevant financial ratios must be calculated from the published financial statements but reliance may be placed on the ratios pre- calculated in the Morning Star data base within “DatAnalysis’ in addition to the required calculations. • Make an explicit recommendation as to whether or not the selected organization is financially stable and performing in line with market expectations • The length of this assignment report should not exceed 2500 words; this excludes calculations, tables ,charts and excludes wording used in the appendices.The total report (including appendices is assessed).
