Assignment title: Information

My wife has also been asked about being pregnant during a job interview. She was, coincidently, about 8 weeks pregnant at the time. She came home just shaking her head that an employer would have the audacity to ask such a clearly illegal question. We had not even told people about the pregnancy because she was not that far along yet. Interestingly, she was still offered the job and continued to work with this dentist for many years. Over time, she came to realize that the question was not likely from a place of wanting not to hire a pregnant woman, but from a socially awkward employer who did not really have a solid understanding of thing we just don't ask. I think many small business owners simply do not know much about employment law; they are good at what they do professionally, but have not had the training to handle the legal issues of owning a business. What would you recommend to employers in this position?
