The final section of the research report (assessment task 1) will include the identification of additional research required to address the business case decision or problem. International technology has rapidly progressed to offer more reachable business styles of communication. Telework that is elaborated as the usual procedure of developing, establishing and keeping flourishing off-site business works through the practice of telecommunication, is presently concreting the way to a probably more proficient system of communication within the workplace. Telework paves more competent communication system within the workplace. This report has addressed the understandings of telework, current trends, and advantages, obstructions of tele work, its effect on current working system and most importantly its need to get introduced and implemented within the current workplace system. 2. Problem Statement & Research Objectives Traditional work practices meant employees are employed either as permanent full time or part time employees. The working hours are normally from morning 9am to evening 5pm in the office. To understand the basic problem behind traditional work place includes different innovative technology, competition and social trends. Internet has made the process of communication and the process of information exchange fast, easy and comparatively cheap. The extremely competitive business setting has forced the organizations to rationalize their action and adopt work practices that are lucrative. The altering demands and needs of the legislation and workforce have controlled organizations to accept more responsible work practices. The working practices follow the flexible work regulations act 2002. To meet up such demands and needs and to maintain the modern development within the work cultures different alterations have taken place in work practices. Nowadays there are number of various employment contacts and work practices are available, such as: contract terms, working hours and working mode. The contract terms include temporary, permanent, casual and fixed term. Working hours include part time, full time, job share and flexi time and working mode includes home based, office based, hot desking and teleworking. Teleworking means working habitually from a place other than office, mostly from home. Tele work uses communications and information technology to maintain connection to work systems and colleagues. The objectives of this research report if to understand the traditional work practices, the problems associated with traditional work practices, the current changes, implementation and implications of telework in modern work practices. 3. What is Already Known about the Decision or Problem Performing a job from a location other than a traditional office, away from the on-site supervision of managers, is called telework. Typically, teleworkers are based at home or at a smaller office located closer to their homes. (Holmes & Allan, 2008) The satellite office is generally a stripped-down version of the main workplace and is outfitted to provide the basic necessities, including secure links to networks. Sometimes employees work from retail outlets that offer wireless connectivity such as the local Starbucks or Barnes and Noble. The advancement of telecommunications such as videoconferencing applications, and the ability to send large amounts of data quickly over the Internet and download it onto a desktop PC at home have made telework a viable option for many employees. The terms telecommunication or telework are interchangeably used. Telework is perhaps an accurate description of what really takes place within current workplace. Telework is defined as an alternative to traditional work practice and considered as a way of completing works while simultaneously offering various benefits to the communities, organizations, associates and environment. Telework substitutes the traditional work practices via computers, different telecommunication instruments at off-site places and telephones . Telework arrangements pose various forms, based on the requirements of the employers and associates. Part time employers allow contacts to avoid regular travel to and from a central office that may or may not be easy to access on a regular basis. Part time tele workers comprise designers and editors often work as freelancers. Full time employees work as practical teams who accumulate electronically from different physical locations to resolve business complications, for example, medical transcriptionists, who work from their home or tele-working centre for a recognized national service (Jaakson & Kallaste, 2010). Special requirements can be present for full time employers, like work experience or training. The associated and the managers searching for teleworking functions should definitely understand the complications associated with telecommunication. Telework is considered as one of the biggest work option but it is not suitable for all. Some people lack required attitudes and qualities needed for telework. For instance a wish to work from home does not involuntarily allow an employee for telecommuting   4. Concept Framework & Research Questions By following this conceptual framework this business reports can be structured well. This framework will give an idea of traditional work practices, the problems associated with traditional work practices, the current changes, implementation and implications of telework in modern work practices. The research questions: Why telework is considered a feasible alternative to traditional work practice? What are the needs to concentrate on telecommunication?
