In this task you are required to develop and implement a diversity policy that reflects the demographics of your workplace and legislative requirements. You are required to review a workplace diversity policy. Task Requirements: Analyse and report on the relevance, currency and effectiveness of a workplace Diversity Policy. Step 1: Access and evaluate your workplace diversity policy for your workplace as shown on the next page. Step 2: Evaluate the content in relation to the guidelines for diversity policies in your Diversity Reference Guide Section 1, or examples of guidelines you have located on the internet. Provide references for any information you obtain from other sources. (For example, you can use the URL as your reference). Step 3: Look again at the diversity policy you have created, determine how well the policy could be shared and understood by work place personnel? What do they need to know about the contents of the policy? What methods would you use to communicate this policy to workers to gain their commitment? What methods are used to negotiate differences between employees? How can your organisation promote its workforce diversity activities in internal and external forums to enhance its public reputation and image? (This information will be useful when you do your presentation in Assessment 3). Step 4: Based an analysis of your findings, develop a set of recommendations that you will provide to management for improving the scope and relevance of the current diversity policy and procedures. Include some creative suggestions of more effective methods for sharing the diversity policy.
